February 1 was the deadline for covered employers, required to keep records of workplace injury and illnesses, to post the OSHA Form 300A. The OSHA Form 300A must be posted in a conspicuous place until April 30. In the past I have had many people question where to post this, particularly on jobsites that are spread out, and may have no central office. There are a couple of important things to consider here; first, if you have more than one physical location a Form 300A must be completed separately for each location. Second, the purpose of posting this is not just to fulfill an OSHA requirement, but to allow workers to view important safety information about the company. This helps promote a culture of safety, and can start the conversation on how to improve in areas that prove to be problematic for workplace injuries. So, getting the information to the people is essential. In addition to posting the Form 300A in a physical location, consider publishing it to an intranet, or a shared cloud drive like Google Drive that can be accessible from smart phones anywhere.
