Halloween Safety Tips

Keep Halloween Fun and Safe!!

Children should not eat ANY candy or halloween treat until an adult has examined it.
Walk – Don’t Run!  Use the sidewalk if possible to avoid clotheslines, bicycles and other yard debris.
Only stop at houses that are well-lit.
Make sure costumes are fitted well, hemmed to the correct height to prevent trips and falls.
Carry flashlights to help lightup your way.  Children should have something bright incorporated in their costume,  weara glowstick, or something bright.
Masks, make-up, and hats are fun, but make sure your child can see clearly.
Be very cautious around jack-o-lanterns with candles burning.
Establish a return time.
Discuss the trick-or-treating route incase anyone gets lost.
Pin a note to your child’s costume with his/her name, phone number and address.
Children under 12 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.  And no one should trick-or-treat alone.
