Course Description:

Employees in construction and general industry exposed to lead in the workplace may be at risk from the health hazards associated with lead. Attendees will learn about the history of lead use, sources, hazards and the health effects of lead. Following the OSHA Standard for lead in construction, participants will learn what is required to prevent exposure to lead.

Course Topics:

  • The requirement of the employer’s written lead exposure program
  • Medical surveillance
  • The health effects of acute and chronic exposure to lead
  • Respiratory protection hazard control methods
  • Exposure monitoring
  • Recordkeeping requirements

Who Should Attend:

All construction personnel who may be exposed to the hazardous effects of lead should attend this course. Also, managers and supervisors who must be familiar with OSHA Standards regarding lead in construction.
