The Association of Builders and Contractors Rhode Island Chapter (ABC-RI) has earned a 2017 Best Practice Merit Award in recognition of its Member to Member Education Programs.

ABC-RI offers its members education and safety training programs and seminars including the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Course as well as management training, leadership development, and business planning. These programs are offered frequently throughout the year.

United Alliance Services is not only a member of the ABC-RI but Marc Bianco, COO/EVP, sits on their safety committee. We also provide ABC-RI and its members with safety training seminars. ABC-RI members can receive discounts on training through UASC as part of their membership program benefit.

In addition, ABC-RI has an extensive apprenticeship educational program. According to the ABC-RI website, the Rhode Island Construction Training Academy (RICTA), is affiliated with the Rhode Island Chapter of ABC. RICTA provides RI Department of Labor- approved classroom training required by the state of RI for folks working in the trade. The trades included in the RICTA training programs include; carpentry, craft laborer, electric, HVAC, painting, pipe-fitter, roofing, sheet metal, and sprinkler-fitter.

We extend our congratulations to ABC-RI for their efforts in providing excellent educational opportunities for its membership and for earning the 2017 Best Practice Merit Award.

The award will be presented during the Association Excellence Awards on Thursday, March 22nd at the ABC Convention in Long Beach, California.
