In a laboratory setting there are many hazards to be aware of, including air contaminants, machinery and electrical, and bloodborne pathogens. Additionally, chemicals are involved a large portion of processes and job tasks in a lab. OSHA has estimated that more than 32 million workers are exposed to 650,000 hazardous chemical products in more than 3 million American workplaces. Understanding the relatively new Global Harmonization System standards is an essential part of staying safe in a laboratory setting.
“My goal for this is course is for everyone to leave with a good understanding of the labeling system for GHS, and basic lab safety awareness and precautions. Trust me when I say I do my best to deliver all the most pertinent information in an entertaining manner,” said Megan.
