This program reviews the learned knowledge from the Confined Space Entry and Rescue courses to meet the annual training requirements for OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.146, “Permit Required Confined Spaces.” This program meets the applicable OSHA & NFPA annual refresher requirements.

Course Topics:
- Leading cause of death from confined space accidents
- Four causes of death from confined space accidents
- Applicability of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.146, “Permit Confined Spaces,” to both government and private industry
- Emergency breathing systems
- Hazard reduction and monitoring techniques
- Rehabilitation of rescue teams
- Application, maintenance, and limitations of rescue equipment
- Emergency Response Planning emphasizing the Incident Command System
- Not permitted condition
- Entry and Extraction safety – Permit versus no permit
- Focus on primary three physical hazards including; explosive, oxygen deficiency and toxic vapors
- Physical hazards including; fall protection, noise, fire and hot-work and engulfment
- Process flow including; engulfment and drowning
- Power tool safety in confined spaces
- Ventilation requirements in confined spaces
- Horizontal and vertical rescue constraints
Upon request from client, instructor will demonstrate donning and doffing of harnesses, deployment of tripods and the use of other confined space extrication gear.
